This new and comfortable chalet (2007) is nestled between the mountains of the Mala Fatra (Little Fatra) and Tatra. The chalet is furnished in a modern style in accordance with Western standards. Together with three other chalets it occupies an excellent spot amidst the renowned Slovakian landscape, where you can enjoy every day from your own furnished terrace or veranda. The village of Raková lies 200 meters further away but larger towns such as Čadca and Žilina are also close by. Neighbouring countries such as the Czech Republic and Poland are within 20 km. The garden has a furnished terrace and a baby pool. In the village of Raková, across from the chalets, there is a small supermarket and restaurant, a church and a café. The house also has a balcony and a shed where you can store your bicycles. There is sufficient parking at the house.

On the ground floor there is an entrance hall, a separate toilet and a built-in closet with mirror. The bathroom is equipped with a shower and washbasin. The open kitchen has, among other things, an electric stove, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. In the sitting area there is a comfortable lounge suite, a fireplace and a satellite TV. The veranda and terrace are accessible from the ground floor. On the first floor there is a second separate toilet and a second bathroom (with bathtub and washbasin). There are three double bedrooms two of which are situated in separate rooms while the third is located in an open area.

Sports-loving families will find whatever they are looking for at Sun Paradise in Oscadnica (10 km): bicycle routes, monkey walks, giant scooters, trampolines, climbing walls, bouncy castles for little kids, summer bobsled and grass boarding. Of course there is still much more available right around the chalet: fishing, mountain climbing, golf, canoeing, paragliding, horseback riding, swimming, gliding, surfing, water skiing, volleyball and tennis. The Kysuce region, with its lush green woods, mountain meadows and cold streams, lies close to the point where three countries meet – Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. This area is also rich in culture including authentic folklore. Numerous little villages offer a clear picture of what the original settlements were like back in the 15th century. Velka Raca Peak, at more than 1200 m high, is a popular destination for nature lovers. Here you can find virgin woods with plants such as gentian, Carpathian snowdrop, wild gladiolus and lilies. Besides mountain butterflies and salamanders you can spot deer, roe, boar, fox and squirrels here. Lynx, wolves and brown bears can be found in remote areas (Keep in mind the three rules so as to prevent any unwanted encounters: don’t scatter food in the nature; always stay on the signposted hiking and cycling routes; and don’t set off into the woods before sunrise or after sunset. There are 4 cycling routes plotted from Čadca. Čadca itself is a large town with plenty of shopping and sports facilities. Žilina, a lovely provincial centre, is a nice place to go shopping or to visit McDonald’s or Carrefour. Even Vienna is within your reach.

Together with three other chalets it occupies an excellent spot: surrounded by a number of smaller family pistes just a short distance (10 km) from Velká Rača, a new ski centre rapidly gaining in popularity. All this amidst the renowned Slovakian landscape, which is impressive even in winter. The village of Raková is only 200 meters away and larger towns such as Čadca and Žilina are also close by. Even the neighbouring countries of Poland and the Czech Republic are just 20 km away. In the village of Raková, across from the chalets, there is a small supermarket,restaurant, a church and a café. Near the chalet and in the direct vicinity you will find several "white" as well as family pistes. All you have to do is choose! There is a ski area of average size in Velká Rača which spreads across three valleys with variations in height of up to 400 meters. The way from your chalet to the ski centre is simple and straight. Modern ski lifts consist of two 4-person lifts, one 2-person lift, two tow lifts and a lift for beginners. The eleven downhill routes are
almost 12 km long in total. There are also smaller ski centers in the neighborhood. There is a snowboarding park and evening skiing here as well. At the top of the mountain there is a snowshoe route accessible by chair lift. There is a network of cross-country routes in the area. You can rent a luggage locker to store your every-day clothes. There are various cozy mountain huts offering delicious and inexpensive food and drinks. Čadca (6 km) is a large town with plenty of shopping and sports facilities. Žilina, a lovely provincial centre, is a nice place to go shopping or to visit McDonald’s or Carrefour. Even Vienna is within your reach.
